Ted Hughes - Year 3
Welcome to Ted Hughes Class.

In Ted Hughes class, we are excited about learning, especially new things. We are passionate about encouraging the children in our class to become independent, curious and respectful little learners and are committed to making sure your child's transition to the Junior school is as seamless as possible.
I absolutely LOVE reading and I really want to promote the love of reading in my classroom. One of my favourite books which got me into reading was Jacqueline Wilson's 'The Diamond Girls' and I love that she has a new sequel coming out this year!
Our Class Author - Ted Hughes
(17 August 1930 – 28 October 1998) was an English poet, translator, and children's writer. Critics frequently rank him as one of the best poets of his generation and one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 1984 and held the office until his death. In 2008 The Times ranked Hughes fourth on its list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".
Hughes's earlier poetic work is rooted in nature . He wrote frequently of the mixture of beauty and violence in the natural world. Animals serve as a metaphor for his view on life: animals live out a struggle for the survival of the fittest in the same way that humans strive for ascendancy and success.
